I didn't use my reusables till lo was 10 weeks or so but he was only bow born so he was little still. I used the fold with the 'extra' padding at the front that they suggest for boys but yes they did look a bit bulky to start with. Not much help sorry! I've never uee those nappies so What does potassium do for your lawn don't know how bulky they are but reusables do often seem huge on a newborn. One thing that I have seen suggested is to use muslins folded instead of the nappy so it might be worth trying that if you have some howw way.
Hi Airlie Bird - I have Bambino Mios and was having a practice with them yesterday and the Size napies nappies are a bit of a squeeze to get into the newborn wraps. I can't comment on how they fit on baby as my LO hasn't arrived yet! Have you pre-washed them? Mine shrunk a lot after the first wash and we have now washed them 4 times and they definately fit the wraps better as a result.
What I noticed the other day is that they only seem to fit by taking up the gusset space and bamvino hard to imagine how it will fit between baby's legs but on the whole mine look much better having kept practising. I can't help anymore until baby arrives then I'll probably discover that I need a whole lot more practice!!
Stick with them though - they're sooo much better for the na;pies and I'm sure baby won't notice the extra bulk - I reckon they are only in the newborn how to be an overcomer for a little while and naplies be in the small wraps in just a few weeks then you'll probably find they fit baby better. Jun 29, PM. Jul 23, PM. Just to update - my LO is now 9 days old and we have been using the Bambino Mios for the last 3 days and naappies far so good.
LO weighed 7lb 6oz at birth and went down to 6lb 7oz and although the wraps look a bit bulky between his legs they are not too restrictive. I find that it works best if Gow just manipulate them a bit once they are on him.
We have been using the regular fold which is recommended for newborns. I tried the boy-fold to strat but that just didn't look right and when I re-read the instructions it suyggested the regular fold for newborns of either sex and the boy-fold for boys once they are a bit older. No leaks so far. I forgot to say, I also use a Mio liner on the front part of the nappy.
I am breastfeeding so the liner is not recommended as the poo is too loose and will just slide off the liner but we found that the first nappy felt really wet at the front where it was pee-soaked - so now we cut a liner in half long ways and wrap that round the bqmbino section of the nappy insert nappiez keeps the wet away from his skin whilst allowing poos to get absorbed.

Jul 23, · Hi Ladies Baby Jaina arrived on the 24/06/08 and i have been sorting out my bambino mio nappies for when i am ready to use them but the nappy part seems too thick whichever way i fold it and looks really uncomfortablee on Jaina.
Cloth nappies are nappies that you don't throw away. They are designed to be reused again and again, and are made of super soft fabric rather than plastic which can be found in single-use nappies. Cloth nappies might be called different things, such as 'reusable nappies' or 'washable nappies' but it all means the same thing! More and more parents are choosing to use cloth nappies for their baby.
Cloth nappies have many benefits:. Cloth nappies are better for bums. They are made from super absorbent fabric rather than chemical gels which can be found in other nappies. This may irritate your baby's skin less and can reduce nappy rash.
This is due to the chemicals in disposable nappies evoking the feeling of dryness when in fact your child is wet; meaning you may leave your nappy on longer between changes.
Nappy rash can be caused by a number of things such as sickness, teething, and in some instances food allergies or a reaction to baby products such as wipes and creams. Cloth nappies are better for your pocket. The bottom line is, even by switching to one cloth nappy a day in place of a single-use nappy, you can make significant financial savings. Cloth nappies are better for our planet.
No landfill. No waste, Kim Graham-Nye, 18th July And they look super cute too. Not much is better than a beautifully designed nappy for the most stylish and eco-chic little bottoms. Cloth nappies work in exactly the same way as any other nappy. The only difference is that when it comes to change-time, you set your nappy aside for laundry day rather than throwing it away. There are some step by step tips we will share with you to help use our products when you start your cloth nappy journey we're here to help!
Our nappies are designed to be easy to use and make change-time extra cute! They're made with fabrics that will wash efficiently and dry quickly too. Cloth nappies use multiple layers of super absorbent fabric for ultimate leak protection.
You can experience leaks in every type of nappy, you just need to ensure you have the right fit for your baby. Stored and washed correctly, cloth nappies are as hygenic as any other nappy. Simply pop your nappies into the washing machine and let the machine do the work. Plus, you won't have to empty your bin as often as there'll be no nappies in there. Lots of parents use cloth nappies part-time.
Usually, this is at home where you can start slow and gradually build up to using full-time when you get into your flow. Overall, they'll save you money. The number of cloth nappies you need will depend on a few things:. Some parents choose to use cloth nappies only when they are at home. You will need to ensure you have enough nappies to use when your others are in the wash, drying and ready to use again.
Normally, nappies are washed every 2 days. When getting started, we recommend around 8 nappies for part-time use and 16 nappies for full-time use, but it does depend on your planned routine. What you need depends on whether you are planning to be a full-time or part-time cloth nappy user. When getting started, we recommend you have enough nappies for 2 days worth of nappy changing so you have enough nappies to use while your others are in the wash, drying and are ready to use again.
We also recommend choosing somewhere to store dirty nappies before washing. And don't forget, you'll need your washing machine!
Nappies, nappy storage and a washing machine are the 3 essential things that you need to start using cloth nappies. There are lots of other award-winning products which can help make your cloth nappy journey easier. Our nappies are suitable for use from newborn, but this is dependent on the size and shape of your baby. We recommend confirming your plans with your hospital as they will have their own procedures and rules just in case. Make sure you have enough nappies for your hospital stay, along with a few storage solutions for your used nappies.
Our wet bags are handy to keep used nappies in when away from home, and the bags can easily be taken home to wash nappies and return with fresh ones if your hospital is unable to help you with cleaning solutions. Pack your change bag with everything you need for your trip out, including enough nappies. When it comes to change-time, simply store your used nappies in your waterproof wet bag or your change bag's 'messy' pocket to keep them separate. When you get home, ensure you've separated the poo from your nappies.
You can then transfer them into your nappy storage or pop them straight into the washing machine. How many pairs of training undies you need really depends on your little one. We would recommend around pairs of training undies so you can wash them at the end of each day. It's likely you will only need 1 pair of swim nappies for your short time in the pool however, it's always handy to keep a spare. If going on holiday, we recommend taking around 4 swim nappies so it gives you enough to use throughout the day and rinse overnight for the next day.

Our toilet training undies are not designed for full absorption like our nappies, and are designed to help contain little accidents to help make the transition from nappies to big-kid undies. They have a concealed water resistant layer and inner pad that hold small amounts of liquid. This allows your toddler to feel wetness and associate this feeling with needing to use the potty to help aid your toilet training journey. Our swim nappies are designed to catch and contain solids in the water.
Just like other swimwear, our swim nappies do not absorb liquids, and are designed to let water out to avoid weighing your baby down in the water.
