Reply 8 years ago on Introduction. There is no right - Personally I tend to use a pencil. If it's complicated like you I use photographs. I have CAD which I used to teach kids to use so I am very familiar with it and tend to do things for public demand or for final scale drawings on that.
This is a very good basic explanation of technical drawing. Being a drafter believe me I've seen what happens when someone doesn't think something all the way through and being someone who likes to build and create I've seen what happens when I skip this step and make many unnecessary trips to the store when if I had just spent a little time what bone articulates with the femur or better for more complicated builds modeling on my computer I could have avoided wasted time, money, and effort.

A big turn-off for your technical drawing skills is you smudging the sheet and making your drawings look messy and clumsy… you can easily avoid that by always cleaning your triangles.
The paper scotch tape will take most grime off your drawing sheet… just remember to change it from time to time. This technique works very well with technical 2. How do yo start with that? Know how to draw all standard geometrical shapes — square, circle, pentagon, hexagon. A bit of planar geometry to get you started — you will use this later for facade and planar studies….
Also as a tip — multiple types of geometry will help you get proportions right for all your designs. Ink all your best drawings — be them sections, technical details, artistic axonometrics etc. Well, your best drawing need to stay the same no matter what, so inking them tracing over them with a liner instead of just leaving them in standard pencil is the best option out there.
